Rebecca (she/they) believes that a negotiated resolution exists for (almost) every family law dispute, whether it is a complex property, support or a tough parenting issue, like child removal (abduction). Rebecca litigates when necessary and has focused on several areas of family law, including marriage (prenuptial) contracts and cohabitation agreements, garnishment, international and local child abductions and contempt of court cases. She has appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice levels across southern Ontario.
Rebecca graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with a Juris Doctor in 2014. She was a student caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services, articled with a full-service Bay Street firm and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. She completed the Harvard Negotiation Institute's 2-Day Intensive Course in 2018 and her Basic Collaborative Family Law training in 2020. She is currently a member of the EDI Committee at Collaborative Divorce Toronto, the Canadian Association of Muslim Women in Law and a member of the Peel Law Association.
Rebecca spends her free time advocating for social justice causes and is a member of the activist coalitions "We Have The Right To Be Right" (RTBR) and The Boob Book Project. Rebecca spends her free time advocating for social justice causes and is a member of the activist coalitions "We Have The Right To Be Right" (RTBR) and The Boob Book Project. Rebecca dabbles in the arts: she took the photos on this website, writes poetry and loves fashion and décor. She produced a short fundraising documentary with an award-winning director and RTBR co-founder. She enjoys travelling, the outdoors and spending time with loved ones. Rebecca is a proud supporter of the West End Phoenix, Sistering, Black Legal Action Centre, 1492 Land Back Lane, amongst other grassroots and non-profit movements.
